Why can't butterflies fly right away?

A Mark Twain quote: "A habit cannot be tossed out of the window; it must be coaxed down the stairs a step at a time.”

Changes need time, and one cannot overrule the important stages of development. Before a butterfly takes wing it must go through a transformation stage - caterpillar to cocoon to butterfly – to complete it's growth. Every step is built upon a pre-requisite that is essential to success. Shortcuts do not reach the required goal only a defined path will lead to development and notable decisions are made.

Deliberate changes require effort because habits are difficult to defeat. We have to pursue challenges if we want diverse and fresh ideas. Such outcomes require courage to release ourselves from familiar concepts and patterns to discover new insight and knowledge. But this is worthwhile.
